“Prescott“ Mural ; Whiskey Row alleyway, Prescott, Arizona.
Muralist Juliana Hutchins and I both worked on the “Prescott“ Mural in the fall of 2019 inside one of the livestock barns located at the Prescott fair and rodeo grounds. This mural was originally painted on three large panels of a durable Mylar industrial ground. Once painted these panels would be mounted on the building of its its present location behind the Saint Michael’s hotel in the alleyway & on the corner of Gurley Street.
This mural depicts the Prescott population involved in the traditional events of Prescott, such as the rodeo, hiking, biking and various other activities. Gargoyles that still adorn some of the buildings are illustrated in the mural along with gambling scenes and bullet holes in saloon ceilings. A great amount of energy went into the creation of the hundreds of Trump ‘Loi’ painted bricks that make up the background of the mural’s blending in with the ACTUAL bricks of the building itself!
Julianna is an extraordinary muralist who has painted hundreds of murals throughout her life in the Phoenix and Prescott regions of Arizona. This mural was started and completed in the fall of 2019 after eight weeks of work.
Below are several close-ups of the Prescott Mural.

This Volkswagen Endangered Species mural was made mobile by the engine of a 1983 Volkswagen Westfalia and was commissioned by Steve Straussner of Prescott Arizona in the spring of 2022 and was completed seven weeks later.
“One Shot” enamel sign paint is what was used to create this mural. The work portrays some of the species of animals that are on the endangered species list of our planet. The sliding side door of the van (when opened) folds up the painted yucca plant blades neatly.
I loved painting on this vans hard-metal-shell body with it softened corners; it was a lot like painting on a big sculpture. This mural now resides in Lynden, Washington, with Steve's son Beck Straussner.

“Ravens with World.”
Tattoo artist Summer Henry is the owner of Avitar Tattoo located in Prescott Valley, Arizona. After meeting up with Summer & discussing a general theme for the mural, l came up with the idea of the ravens alongside the various lunar cycles of the moon. The lunar design creates a diamond shaped window for the two main ravens of the Mural, one of them passing the planet earth to the other with its beak. The result of this strange interaction is a kind of dark humor that I truly enjoy. Mural was begun April 2022 and completed six weeks later.
